The imperial court frail, reduced to a wooden puppet as the ambitious rise, vying for these divine lands.

But the great Earth knows of my righteous will, and my virtuous heart is reflected by High Haven as I dedicate myself to the imperial house of Han.

Alas! Courageous but without loyalty, at the first sight of gain did you abandon all virtue and slay your own father.
禍煙傾 八方無已奔灰天
Towards grey skies does the smoke of war rise.
患飆湧國閔 兇風猖刮儼幟傳民怨
A tempest of suffering sweeps the empire, fierce winds claw at solemn banners, carrying the lament of the people.
諸侯怒 誓扶王室定太平
Moved by fury are the lords who swear to restore order and aid the imperial clan.
盟軍進敵馮 漸次單挑殘衄喪其命
Soldiers of the alliance advance into the mounted enemy, slain one-by-one in mortal combat.
飛將譏 錯落錦袍飛鳳起
The Flying General scoffs, his battle robes fluttering like a phoenix.
龍駒跳影追 簡傲畫戟熒煌射秋水
His dragon steed bounds, chased by its shadow. His proud halberd lustrous, as luminous the limpid autumnal waters.
獨前刺 奮把虎牢關扼制
Alone he pierces forth, guarding Hulao pass.
兵卒逡馬趑 絕望揪心 鬥銳全毀撕
Troops cower, horses falter, as despair grips their hearts and their battle spirits shatter.
煥鐵映戰地 赭塵騰卷彌
Brilliant steel reflects the battlegrounds as ochre dust rises all around.
三英陣出騎 無畏搦威敵
Three heroes go to meet their mighty foe, riding out fearlessly in tow.
刃似鬼嚎鳴 馬蹄吼如霆
Blades howl like spectres, hooves roar like thunder.
百合兮百定 勝負未分清
Yet even with one hundred exchanges, unclear remains the victor.

Soldiers rush through open gates, seizing you and your commanders.
不求哀 陳宮輔主空負材
Chen Gong refuses all pity, his genius was put to waste.
丈夫何壯哉 白門身死誰肯似公臺？
How brave was he, a hero indeed! With his death at the White Gate Tower, who would match up to him?
虎乞緩 太懦求饒士休寬
The tiger begs. Shameless, he pleads for mercy.
無有人救營 枉罵虛喊 飛將終就斬
With none to save the Flying General, his cries are but in vain as his head is severed.

At the altar, Zhuge Liang summons the winds as straw-filled ships advance.

Fortuitous winds blow from the south-east as our oars fly, blazing ships cleave the waves.

Bloody screams resound as chained ships ignite, illuminating the river.

Boarding their decks with swords and spears, dyeing the ravenous waves a crimson red.

Arrows blanket the sky as the northern soldiers are swallowed by the tides, buried by the currents.

The path treacherous, hindered by muddied land. In defeat, the weak are sacrificed as they make their retreat.
腥熏天泥滿屍 最終 殘軍陷圍
The stench of war overpowering, corpses litter the ground. Battered troops encircled at last.
恩難忘賢義釋 此日 汝命不廢
Yet a debt he of virtue forgets not. On this day your life shall be spared.

Jade may shatter, but its whiteness remains. Bamboo may burn, but its joints endure.
存歿顯蔽過火海 武勇萬古留
Existence and death are revealed to me as I cross a sea of fire. Yet my valour shall last through countless ages.

What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts. Sa vision est englobante : les mélodies, la gravité et le silence font toucher le paradis ; l'agressivité est luciférienne.
